Print out these meal and snack options so you can successfully eat five times a day.
By Kevin Valluzzi
"I understand that I should be eating five to six times a day, but what should I eat?" is a common question I hear from most of my clients. That's why I put together the Busy Woman Fitness menu chart. This chart is designed to take all of the guesswork out of eating. As I've stated before, you should aim to eat a lean protein and a whole-grain carbohydrate with each meal. It is also a good idea to add in a fibrous carbohydrate (vegetable) with some meals too.
The Busy Woman Fitness Menu Chart
not only has breakfast, lunch,
and dinner options, but there are also plenty of snack options for those times
that you will be eating in between meals. And with all of the options to choose
from, the combinations you can come up with are endless! On the last page of
the chart I've also included 12 nutritious, well-balanced meals that you can
try if you ever can't decide what to make.
So your first step would be to take a look at the foods on the chart and see what you need to pick up at the grocery store. Most of the meals are very quick and easy, so there shouldn't be much preparation at all. But to save time you can always plan ahead and make some things in advance. After that it's just a matter of making sure you have one of these meals every three to three-and-a-half hours. Do that consistently, in addition to strength training and cardio, and I guarantee you will see a change in how you look and feel. And you will be excited, once again, to go shopping for something new and fabulous to wear!

This is one of my biggest problems normally i resort to sweets as my in between means. In an attempt to eat healthier I have substituted my sweet snacks with fruit, I know you said that you should eat a protein and carbohydrate, but how bad is it if you just eat fruits?
Hi melij84,
No one ever got fat from eating fruit, so it is fine to eat some. Actually fruit is a carbohydrate. so you might want to try adding some protein with your fruit (apple and Low fat Peanut Butter, apple and low fat cheese, etc.).
Just also keep in mind that fruit has a lot of sugar, so don't overdo it. And one way to combat the sugar spike you get from eating fruit is to have it with a protein.
I hope this helps. Be sure to print off my Busy woman Fitness menu chart from the blog post.
Thanks,
