How necessary is a prenuptial agreement?

I am COMPLETELY for pre-nup agreements. It's not that you don't love the other person or that you're expecting a divorce, it's just that you're protecting items (money, figurines, etc.) that mean everything to you. Because if it turns out that you DO end up getting a divorce, what makes you think that the other person wouldn't try to take what you love from you in the divorce. In divorces (not all of them, but MOST of them), people will ask for everything just to spite the other person.

I totally don't agree with pre-nups! Hello!? I mean, if you think that the person you're going to marry would take all your money or take advantage of you or treat you bad in anyway whatsoever....then why would you marry that person?!
