This week on Million Dollar Matchmaker, Shawn and Monie joined the Millionaire’s Club in search for love. When Patti uncovered the truth that Shawn is a virgin who acts like a job recruiter on a first date and that Monie’s cheating men might be the result of her bossy, managerial ways, she had her work cut out for her. Although only one of the millionaires checked out with their match, there were plenty of love lessons learned and that’s what really matters!

SHAWN

Shawn prefers to keep his personal life to himself, but when Patti brought him to his own truth, he learned a valuable lesson in finding a mate! Here’s what Shawn had to say about his experience with Patti.

There were a lot of ups and down over the week, but at the end of the day, I think something positive came out of it. When I first came into the Millionaire’s Club, I was really hopeful, and at the same time, kind of nervous. I didn’t really know what to expect. As the week went on, it was definitely a growing experience, especially learning about patience.

The mingle was really cool because I think Patti picked out some great girls for me. It was between Nora, Amber and Jenny… and I kind of knew from the beginning it was going to be Amber, but I wanted to vet them all a little more. Amber stood out as the clear winner; I could tell she was one in a million.

I decided to take Amber to a professional recording studio for our date and brought in my friend, Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum producer, Andrew Lane. Amber and I had a chance to make music together, get to know each other on a personal level, have some macaroons and cupcakes and it was a really fun time! I think we came out with a really good song, too – I’m looking forward to going on another date with her!

From this experience, I learned to not be a resume checker and to rely on organic chemistry. I have to give the girl the grace to become the First Lady – it’s okay to grow into that power couple.

It was cool getting a chance to work with Patti because she’s an expert at doing what she does. It started a little rough in the beginning, but I think her and I came to an understanding – we were both willing to compromise, and at the end of the day I was able to teach her something about Christian values. Patti opened my eyes to focusing on organic chemistry and I think that bodes well for me in all aspects of my life.

Whether Shawn and Amber record a platinum record together or become pillars of public policy, WE hope they’re in it together for the long haul!

MONIE

Desperate to know why every many she’s ever been with cheated, Monie needed Patti to point out that what has made her so successful in her career has made her fail at love. Being a leader is one thing, but when you’re the boss lady of every relationship, you might only come out of it alone.

Working with Patti, I experienced skepticism and then surprise. I really didn’t believe that she would be able to dig as deeply into me as much as she did. She got right down to the source of why I keep making bad decisions in my relationships. She gave me a better knowledge of myself in the love-finding department.

The date was awesome. I was nervous at first, but when I found out it was a cooking date, I was relieved because I know how to cook - I didn’t know if he knew how to cook, and I had no Pepto (LOL). But, he actually did a great job, and it was tasty! The chemistry between Terry and I was really fantastic, as far as plutonic friendships go. I can see myself going to a concert with him and knocking back some craft beers, but there was no flirting or no love sparks. Honestly, I’m not disappointed, I think he’s a really nice person and more than anything, I gained knowledge of myself — that’s really irreplaceable.

I learned that I can have a successful date, if I don’t orchestrate it!

Working with Patti was awesome. She tapped into a closed area of myself and helped me with my self-reveal. That’s going to help me move forward to have successful dates in the future until I find my Mr. Right. Before I met Patti, I wasn’t dating at all – now, I’m confident to date!

Too bad Monie and Terry won’t be knockin’ boots any time soon, but WE are thrilled that she now has the confidence to find love on her own!
