This year’s NAACP Image Awards got personal for Tina Campbell. Tina’s debut album, “It’s Personal”, which was released in May 2015, was nominated for the Outstanding Gospel Album Award. She and her husband, Teddy Campbell, attended the Pre Awards Show and announced the nomination on their shared Instagram account.

An hour later, Tina excitedly announced “WE WON YAAAALLLLL!!!!”

Her acceptance speech referenced the trials she faced over the past couple of years, and noted that those challenges are what helped her create the now award-winning album. While filming Mary Mary, Tina’s world was rocked when news broke of Teddy’s infidelity. She publicly struggled with whether or not to end their marriage or focus on forgiveness. Tina ultimately decided on forgiveness and the couple renewed their vows on season 4 of the show.
