Toni and Tamar Braxton Take the Stage and Blow Us Away!
On Sunday night, the music industry celebrated some of the biggest names in R&B, gospel, soul, jazz and hip-hop with their 30th annual Soul Train Awards. Erykah Badu hosted the event for the third consecutive year and SWV kicked off the show with a medley of their best-known hits: “Weak,” “Rain” and “Right Here.”

In their 25-year career, SWV has been nominated for countless awards, but have never actually won...until the other night! The group was honored with the Lady of Soul Awards and WE couldn’t be happier for them!

Toni Braxton was also honored with the Soul Train Legend Award. After receiving her award, Toni took the stage in a shiny black dress and performed a medley of hits including “He Wasn’t Man Enough for Me,” “You’re Making Me High” and “Love Shoulda Brought You Home.” She even let Tamar in on the action!

Tamar was in the audience supporting her big sister before taking the stage herself, where she performed her Etta James-inspired ballad “Blind.”
Bruno Mars took home five awards including Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, Video of the Year, Album/Mixtape of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Dance Performance. With seven nominations, Solange Knowles was expected to win big. She took home one award for her work on “Cranes in the Sky” while SZA won Best New Artist.
